Sunday, police in Cromwell, Connecticut arrested two individuals after an armed robbery in River Centre Plaza’s parking lot.
According to local law enforcement, the victim made arrangements to meet the suspects , a male and a female, in the aforementioned parking lot. The female suspect allegedly relieved the victim of the sneakers, as the male suspect pointed a gun from inside his car. The theiving duo then fled the scene.
With assistance from Middletown officers, Cromwell PD indicated they found the getaway vehicle in Middletown. Soon after both suspects were located exiting their residence and were apprehended by Middletown police. A search of the home was subsequently conducted by Cromwell police that law enforcement says found evidence linking the suspects to the robbery.
The male suspect , 20-year-old Julio Oquendo of Middletown, was arrested and charged with the following: robbery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree, larceny in the sixth degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree, threatening in the first degree, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of ammunition, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
The female suspect, 21-year-old Carmen Rogers of Middletown, was arrested and charged with the following: robbery in the second degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
Both suspects are being held at the Cromwell Police Department, Oquendo on a $100,000 bond, with Rogers’ bond set at $75,000. Both were due in court Tuesday.
